What to Wear to the Office + Life Update

Hey guys! Long time, no talk I know

First let me just say that although I had a ton of great ideas and plans for Christmas / Winter / New Years themed posts, I just did not get around to them. This time of year can be extremely stressful, and it's important to remember not to wear yourself too thin. Between the holidays, having family stay with us, and starting a new job (more info on that in a sec), I have just been so busy. So, I decided to take a little break from blogging to focus on everything else going on. It's so important to live in the moment and enjoy the holidays with your family so that is what I did!

Okay, so now that that's out of the way, lets get down to business... Or should I say business casual? Here are two office ready looks for fashionistas who have a dress code but don't want to sacrifice looking and feeling cute and stylish. The reason i'm finally doing an office wear post (and the reason i've never done one in the past) is because I have a new job working for an amazing company called Leidos, and it has a 'business casual' dress code. I kind of panicked because I: 1. didn't own any business-y clothing at all, and 2. I don't know how to wear pants that aren't jeans or leggings. Because of all that, I knew I had to do a little research, and that is exactly what I did. Here are two looks I came up with:

Look #1:

Jacket c/o | Lace Tank (Sold Out) | Pants (Sale!) | Bag | Pumps | Watch

I love this look because it is business-y but not boring. The pop of lace on the tank adds a feminine touch, while the jacket keeps everything looking polished and put-together. Not to mention a pump that goes from office appropriate to party ready with the change of an outfit. I also LOVE these (also available/on sale in grey) and these for fun heels as well. Talk about versatile!

Look #2:

This look is definitely a much more classic approach to office wear. You can never go wrong with a pretty blouse and a blazer. This look is also one you can play around with. Try adding a bright colored blouse for a pop of color, a fun statement necklace for a touch of bling, or a pencil skirt if you're really feeling sassy.

Okay, well that's it for this post! I hope to put together more cute office-ready looks in the future, and I promise to share them all! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope you all have a wonderful New Year as well. Becoming a better blogger and posting much more frequently is at the top of my New Year resolutions list, so i'll be back much sooner than later. Be sure to keep an eye out!

Leopard & Thigh Highs

Hi guys! I know it's been awhile since i've put up a post and i'm sorry! Life has been crazy (as it always is this time of year) which is why i've been MIA. But, today i'm back with this super cute and cozy sweater from Romwe! I love leopard so so so much, and I am always on the lookout for a good leopard. I thought this one was really cute and different because of the pop of blue! I love incorporating color into my wardrobe, but I find it hard to do in the winter sometimes. I have to try to not wear black all the time in the colder months - it seems like every warm piece of clothing I own is black LOL.

So along with my cozy sweater, I am wearing my absolute fave black destroyed jeans. These are so cute and perfect for adding a bit of grunge to any look. I love them because I can wear them with everything and during every season. I am also wearing THE boots of the season. My faux suede OTK boots are so trendy and very much in fashion this year! these are a great dupe for this designer pair. I want a pair of these in every color! Lastly, to tie together my look, I am wearing my fave beanie from F21 and the most versatile pair of earrings ever. If you don't own a pair of these KS earrings, I highly recommend them. They look great with everything, and they come in a ton of different colors and metals.

Thats it for today's post, guys. Check in later this week for a 'What to Wear to the Office' / Life Update post! I'm really excited about that one :)

Shades of Gray

Lace-Up Gray Swearer c/o | Fringe Gray Sweater c/o | Destroyed DenimBooties (similar here & here) | Bag | Earrings | Sunnies | Lip Color: Liner & Lipstick

Happy Monday y'all! I hope you're all having a great start to your week. Today i'm doing things a little bit different. This post is a sort of double-post featuring two of my new favorite sweaters from Romwe. I absolutely love them both - the lace-up one is super trendy and and cute, and the fringe sweater is SO cozy. It's probably the coziest sweater I own! It's the softest material ever.

I am absolutely loving destroyed denim lately. It totally takes any outfit and adds such a fun edgy vibe to it. I love it! These ones are super flattering and were crazy affordable (thank you Nordstrom Rack!). If you live near a Rack I highly recommend that y'all check it out. They have the cutest clothes, and they have some seriously amazing deals on designer stuff. I've found so many gorgeous Tory Burch pieces (bags and shoes) at the new one here in ABQ. Also, how amazing are these L.A.M.B. booties? I absolutely love them. They have a gorgeous snake skin pattern on them. I also love this pair for a more dressy look!

Pretty in Plaid

Hey y'all! Happy Monday! I didn't have to go in to work today until later, so I thought it would be the perfect day to shoot this look i've been loving! This look is inspired by the fall obsessed girl meme (if you haven't seen it, this is what i'm talking about). I liked her looks so I thought i'd re-create it a bit.

My top is from Romwe (fave online clothing shop ever!), and is super cute and absolutely perfect for fall! It is long enough that if you're shorter (under 5'3' i'd say) it can be a dress. If you're taller, it pairs perfect with leggings and boots like i've styled it here. This top is a must have for fall! It's the perfect plaid and it is so festive for the holiday season. Also, if you have been on the hunt for the perfect over the knee or thigh high suede or faux suede boots, look no further because i've got you covered. I found the perfect pair for just under $40 at Marshall's the other day in both black and taupe. They are a great dupe for THIS designer pair. Snatching these babies up was a no-brainer for me! You can find similar, affordable versions HERE and HERE

On another note, if you like tea, the tea that i'm sipping on in these photos is to die for. I wandered into Teavana today and found my true love tea. They have a white chocolate peppermint tea, which is part of their seasonal teas, and let me tell you... It was GOOD. If you prefer tea or if you're not a big coffee person, this is an excellent alternative to Starbucks peppermint mocha. Teavana also has a gingerbread tea and a pumpkin tea that smell absolutely heavenly (i'm sure they taste just as delicious, too!) What are your favorite fall/winter drinks? Leave me a comment below!

Beanie Weather

Happy Sunday guys! I hope everyone's had a great weekend! Todays blog post is all about these adorable beanies NOXX sent to me! This company is super awesome because they make both adult beanies and children's beanies - so those of you with kiddos, you can get matching beanies! Too cute.

I love beanies, but I have a hard time finding ones that I really like. These ones though, are amazing. They are super cute, come in different patterns, colors, and fabrics. I love the knit ones as well as the jersey knit ones because they are cozy and keep me warm, but don't make my head too hot. I also love the pink one because its such a fun and cute way to incorporate color into your winter wardrobe. Especially when paired with these fun pink and orange Nike LunarGlides! I'm honestly just so happy I can finally wear my warm fall clothes. It has been so hot here, it was in the 80s all throughout October. Yikes! Looking forward to colder weather and warm and cozy outfits.

Black Body Suit

Hi guys! I thought this look would be the perfect way to bid farewell to Halloween and October. This witch inspired look is one of my favorites! But now that Halloween is over and it's officially November, y'all need to get ready for a 'the most wonderful time of the year' vibes from now on.

I have been looking for body suits for quite awhile now. They are super trendy and I think they are just super cute and flattering. I found mine at TJ Maxx over the weekend and I just had to wear it! I also picked up this one in olive green and it is so cute on. I'm planning on wearing them on my birthday trip to Las Vegas with my mom at the end of the month. I had a hard time paring this body suit with bottoms - I liked it with my destroyed black denim, but it was too much black. I also liked it with my blue denim, but something seemed off. Then I remembered this skirt (I found it at Ross a few months ago on sale for like $2.50. How amazing is that?!) that I have been trying to style for awhile. The two were a match made in heaven. I love how the body suit and skirt look together!

I also thought I'd sass this look up a bit with my silver studded heels and my silver studded choker in the spirit of Halloween. I also thought, what witch doesn't wear a hat? Plus, I thought this one from my POPSUGAR Must Have box really brought this look together. I can't find the exact hat for sale online, so I've linked a similar version.

All that being said, WHO IS READY FOR THE HOLIDAYS?!?! Okay sorry I really can't contain my excitement. It's November 1st, so you all know I've already started playing Christmas music. I can't wait for all the holiday fun to come. My birthday is November 22nd, so that is super exciting, then there's Thanksgiving and Christmas. I cannot wait guys. I have so many good post ideas and I can't wait to share them all with you! Be sure to keep an eye out :)
